Happy New Year!  Welcome to senior year!  We RULE!  Ready for a  blast?  Headlines  shout Symposium 70—No Generation Gap Evident and School Restricts Dances to Couples.  Federal Judge Warren Urbom’s picture is front and center with the article “People Need Challenge”   Seniors  (sigh)  John Frey and John O’Shea  round out the front page in a picture from  the summer’s  Student Parent School Symposium at EHS.  Adrienne Fisher noted, about her summer on a kibbutz, that “Many Israelis are very skeptical of the current cease-fire, as there have been cease-fires before.”   Nancy Quinlan’s summer AFS placement  took her to Frankfurt and Bremen.  Bren Buckley represented Nebraska at a California Drug Conference.  (I told you seniors rule!)  The pass/fail option is offered for the first time.  A mysterious display ad says “DO IT TONIGHT For Two Bucks 8:00-  Girls Gym”  (Hum…why don't I remember this?  Was I there?  Would I want to remember it?  LOL)  Other display ads: Kings is the Good Food Place, and The 1970-71 Cheerleaders Say “LOOK OUT WORLD Here Come the Knights” –Jaime-Karen-Patti-Leslie-Barb-Diane-Pat.  Moving right along, in the sports page picture, quarterback Don Osvog fires a quick pass during Saturday’s scrimmage.  The football team will open the season next Friday at North Platte.  (Please note that Coach Redding comments that North Platte does not have any 200 pounders this season.)  Jim “Legs” Daniels stars in classic Adidas in a Gerry’s Sport Shop ad.
