LSE 55th Reunion
We are off and running with another memorable LSE Class of 1971 reunion! The reunion will feature lots of networking and catch-up time in a very relaxed, casual atmosphere. Both of the reunion parties are located within walking distance to our HQ hotel, Embassy Suites, where we have a block of rooms reserved. Like our past reunions, this one promises to be a ton of fun, a hallmark of the class of 1971! Registration for the reunion closes on August 14 to allow the committee to make final arrangements at the two venues. The final cancellation date for the reunion is September 3.
Reunion Activities
Wednesday, Sept. 9
The opening reception will be held at Bierhaus Maisschaler, 151 N. 8th Street in the Haymarket District. We have rented the entire roof garden for a very informal, casual 'meet and greet' party where you can renew old frienships and relive some of the great times we had at LSE.
There will be a buffet of German delicacies to enjoy and a cash bar featuring Bierhaus micro-brews. The fun starts at 5:00 pm.
Thursday, Sept. 10
The 55th reunion party will be held at Embassy Suites, 1040 P Street. within easy walking distance of the Haymarket District, the University, and many other downtown venues. A buffet of heavy hors d'oeuvres will be available, as well as a cash bar. Again, this will be a very casual, relaxed affair designed to provide the perfect environment to reconnect and relive our shared experiences. The party starts at 5:00 pm and lasts until we all run out of energy.

Optional Activities
Tour of Lincoln Southeast
One of the most popular events at our 50th reunion was the tour of Lincoln Southeast. If you haven't seen our school in a while, you are in for a huge surprise. It looks more like a junior college than a high school. And the rumors are true! The senior bench is gone. A true tragedy. The free tour starts at 4:00 on Wednesday, Sept. 9, immediately preceeding the reunion reception at the Bierhaus. Please sign up for the tour in the ticket dialogue box so we know how many to expect. Thanks goes out to classmate Bill Bryant for setting up this free tour.
Golf Outing at Quarry Oaks

What is a reunion without a golf outing? The 55th reunion will be no exception. We have arranged a block of tee times on Thursday, Sept 10, at Quarry Oaks Golf Course, located at 16600 Quarry Oaks Drive, Ashland, Nebraska. Tee times start at 10:00 and the cost is a reasonable $160 per person for 18-holes of golf, which includes a double occupancy, electric golf cart and $25 in Quarry Oaks credit for food and drink on the course. Payment will be made at the venue, but please register for the golf outing in the ticket section of the website.
We have 28 reserved spots for players, 7 groups of 4, and we're playing a scramble where you take the best shot each time and then play from there, so there's no pressure if you haven't played for a while since we're there for the fun and scenery. There are 4 sets of tee boxes. We'll be playing from 3 and 4 (1 is for pros), The 3 set is for senior men with the average hole length being 335 yards. Tee set 4 is for senior ladies with an average hole length of 262 yards, so it will fit us well.
Tee times are very limited so register as soon as possible. If you want to set up your own 4-person team, please send the names of the team members to George Howard (gwhoward54@gmail.com) by August 14. Quarry Oaks has a few electric golf carts available at $20 per cart for those that just want to tour the course, enjoy the amazing scenary and accompany our classmates navigating the course. If you are interested in just renting a golf cart, please contact George Howard. Carts are limited so please contact George at your earliest convenience. Much thanks to George for setting this up for our reunion!
Miniature Golf at Adventure Golf
I am sure many of us have fond memories of playing miniature golf at Cool Crest during our high school days. Here's your chance to relive those days and have a memorable round of miniature golf at Adventure Golf (sorry, no alligators to aim at), located at 5901 So. 56th Street. The event overlaps the golf outing on Sept. 10 for those that like a more relaxed golfing experience. Four or five person teams can be arranged by contacting Jim Nelson (jim@nelsonagllc.com). Otherwise, you will be assigned to a team. We will be using their Backwoods course, which is the most challenging, but does not contain any steps or stairs. The cost of this event is $13 per person, to be paid at the venue, but please register for this optional event on our registration page. Please arrive at the course at 10:00 and play will start at 10:30. Much thanks to classmates Jim Nelson and Steve Bridger for putting this together for the reunion.
