Comments:

I retired from the Groundwater Foundation in December of 2007 because I really missed direct contact with youth. The growth of the Groundwater Foundation had made it necessary for me to do so much fund-raising and budget work that I missed what was most important--educating people about the importance of our precious groundwater.

As a result, I decided to return to my roots and re-new my teaching certificate so I could be a Guidance Counselor again at North Star High School in 2008. (I used to be a Counselor at Pound many years ago!) I also taught English at Utica Centennial High School after graduating from St. Olaf College in 1975.

I am now mostly retired but am on the Board of Directors of the Lower Platte South Natural Resources District here in Lincoln.

Am currently serving as an elected Director on the Lower Platte South Natural Resources District Board and am chair of its Water Resources Subcommittee.

School Story:

The best LSE story I have is when some of my friends and I decided to paint the old Antelope Park Bridge. However, we didn't plan very well and the paint we thought was gold and black was actually lavender and silver. So--the bridge had a very unique paint job but the message was the same as usual--Go Knights!

I am posting in memory of Gary Scott. I was blessed by knowing him and he was in several of my classes during out senior year. Gary always went out of his way to be friendly to me during 10th grade as did many others. Gary excelled at athletics-especially swimming. I'll always remember him with fondness and send heartfelt sympathy to his family.

Karen was one of the first people I met as a very anxious 10th grade student from Lincoln Lutheran Junior High. Karen was very outgoing and friendly & we remained friends throughout our years at LSE. One memory that stands out was a invitation to a slumber party at her home across from Cathedral close to LSE. We didn't really get much slumber that night but did have lots of fun! Because of people like Karen, along with other delightful classmates who welcomed an unknown to a huge high school-I soon felt right at home. Peace be with you my friend.
